The walk up wasn't too bad at all as long as you pace yourself. We took our time, stopped for some great photos on the way up, and really enjoyed the whole experience. The second floor views are stunning, and we had a lot of time to take pictures. I recommend it!
Walking up the stairs gave us a totally different perspective of the ironwork. It was amazing to see how the whole thing is put together. My wife wasn’t so happy about climbing all the way up to the second floor. But when we saw that stunning city view, we both agreed that it was more than worth it!

A brilliant engineering achievement
As you climb up the Eiffel Tower, you will be able to see an incredible piece of 19th-century engineering. The entire structure is made of over 18,000 individual iron pieces held together by more than two million rivets. The open design was cleverly created to allow wind to pass right through, which is why the tower barely moves even on very stormy days.
